“I pity
His wretchedness, though he is my enemy,
For the terrible yoke of blindness that is on him.
I think of him, yet also of myself;
For… we are dim shapes, no more, and
weightless shadow.”
-Sophocles, Ajax
Time is like a river made up of the events which happen, and a violent stream; for as soon as a thing has been seen, it is carried away, and another comes in its place, and this will be carried away too.
-Marcus Aurelius, Meditations

Dear Sean,
I believe that the concepts impermanence and nirvana are valid, and I respect Buddhism as another religion, however, I do not practice Buddhism, Shintoism, or Taoism. I do not follow the Eightfold Path, nor do I follow Pali. I believe that the Four Noble Truths are interesting, and for the most part, very true, and that Siddhartha Gautama was a very, very wise man, however, like I said, I am not a Buddhist. I wish I could somehow become aware of how to solve world suffering during my meditative periods, however, I am still very young, and I do not know everything. Hopefully I retain some claim to wisdom by admitting this. What I meant by number two on that list is:
To people who have found union IN love, love is solid, if only to them.
I don’t think that you shouldn’t have your own opinion, but if you don’t like what I am saying, why did you start following me?
I appreciate any and all feedback.
Sincerely yours,
Tempest
You’re welcome. Sorry I wrote you a novel.
Thanks for looking at that. Some people disagree, like this “seanthescarecrow” character. I just believe that we are all entitled to our opinion. I hope that my brain will continue to produce interesting things for you.
I would believe that you are far from a pretentious bastard. You seem quite eloquent from the way you speak and the things that you say, other than the occasional breast-related comment, which can be forgiven because it is the typical male behavior. Forgive me if I am stereotypical, but this is experience speaking. I shall give you the title of philosophic, if not for your grace, then for your admittance of possibly being a pretentious bastard, which, I assure you, you do not seem.
I am glad you deem it fit to determine my calling you philosophic a compliment; it was meant as such.
Thank you for the compliment in turn. I appreciate the attention to my blog. Apologies if it is kind of boring. Perhaps you will enjoy my posts of “The Esoteric Truths of Man”?

These are things that I, being a philosopher in my natural habitat (shhhhh! My family has no idea I am so deep. ^-^), have composed from the recesses of my brain that I think all people should know. I will add these periodically, so look for them! I hope that someone out there will enjoy the rambles of a mind on the rampage……
- · The reasons a man must fear another are unbeknownst to me. The reasons man must fear himself are eternal.
- · Love is not only a figment of the imagination; it has established solidity in the hearts of those who have found solidarity in it.
- · Life is ever-changing; those who live, beings who are quasi-existent, must constantly adapt and heed to this everlasting evolution voluntarily, or life will become transient.
